I have been using the crib for the past 11 months!
I had an issue with the rail height previously and the amazing folk at little bird gave me a suggestion!
I removed the 2 drawers and got the bed height lower as my baby is tall and I was worried about him falling off once he started standing!
So after my previous review on the railing height, the lovely team of little bird got back to me with a solution to get an additional rail height of 4-5”.
Very impressed by their customer service and support! Do recommend this brand not just for their brilliant designs, sturdy quality but also the customer service! Very impressed!
The lowest bed setting is not as low. The distance from the mattress top( little bird mattress) to the top of the rail (rail height at lowest level) is only 16” compared to other beds where the the rail height to the lowest setting is in the range of 21” to 24”.
When I bought the crib I didn’t do as much research to compare rail heights at low bed setting.
This becomes a problem cause as per the American association of paediatrics (AAP) u should move a child to a new safer bed when their nipple reaches the top of the rail. My 6.5 month baby has learnt to stand and he is almost there making it unsafe for my baby in case he sands up and leans down. He could fall over.
Me and my husband are tall so our baby is a little taller than average kids those extra inches of rail height could have really helped. It’s too soon to move him to a toddler bad of course which is why I am a bit worried cause buying a new crib after spending so much on this one makes no sense to me!
